Support » Plugin: LiteSpeed Cache » Minification & CDN Compatibility?

I’m considering upgrading my VPS from apache to litespeed. I’m currently using WP Rocket with MaxCDN. I’ve been very happy with WP Rocket, but when I was reviewing the litespeed plugin details I didn’t see anything about minification or cdn’s.

If the plugin doesn’t offer these features would it be compatible with WP Rocket? Would the lightspeed plugin outperform WP Rocket on a lightspeed server?

    Hi @nickyb713,

You can install both litespeed cache plugin and WP Rocket. They are compatible.

You can disable WP Rocket full page cache but keep other features by this: http://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/61-disable-page-caching

Also you need to exclude its cache file by this: https://www.litespeedtech.com/support/wiki/doku.php/litespeed_wiki:cache:lscwp:customizations:multi-cache-plugins

Awesome, thanks for this info and the quick response.

You are most welcome. If you have any further question, don’t hesitate to ask. Enjoy.

I just upgraded my server to Litespeed and setup my caching plugins per your instructions. But every test I have ran has been faster when only WP Rocket is activated and LSCWP is deactivated. Any suggestions?

When you have LSCWP activated, did you see the header is hit and cached or no cache?

Both miss or hit should be fine.

Also, do you mind tell us how you tested the speed?

    Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0

I ran multiple tests on pingdom, gtmetrix, and webpagetest.org. The results were different from site to site which is expected, but I ran about a dozen test on each site and compared those results. For instance, I only compared the results of gtmetrix with other gtmetrix tests.

Thanks for the continued support and quick responses.

That is not LSCWP cache header.
    Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0

Can you check if there is any tag related to our LSCWP.

Also, can you try to disable your other plugins one by one to see if it can work well?

The current LSCWP won’t cache for logged in users. Please make sure you are testing frontend pages as a guest user.

Disabling the other plugins is not an option, and the header info I provided was from a clean browser that just had all cookies & cache cleared.

The only other caching plugin installed is WP Rocket, which does not have an option to disable front-page cache from what I saw. All I did was add this line to my functions.php file:

    add_filter( 'do_rocket_generate_caching_files', '__return_false' );

Then I cleared the WP Rocket cache and activated LSCWP. Did I miss something?

Even with WP Rocket disabled the header is still the same.

Did you see any header with X-LiteSpeed-Cache-Control? Looks like your LSCWP is not running.

Have you setup server correctly? Check if your cache folder is correct.

BTW, may I know how you compared the speed with WP Rocket?

Apologize I just corrected this post.

Sorry, I’m not following how that looks good. The header is the same as before when you said it wasn’t caching properly.

As I said I ran about a dozen speed test on each of those 3 sites. I tested the following three conditions multiple times on each site:

    1) WP Rocket – active
    2) WP Rocket & LSCWP – active
    3) LSCWP – active

WP Rocket alone was almost 2 seconds faster consistently.

If Cache storage Path is not set, the cache won’t work by default.

I purchased the license through my webhost who also installed & configured litespeed on my server with OPcode cache.

The screenshot above with the cache tab, is that from the plugin or the Litespeed panel in WHM?

Can you check if you have this button Set Missing Cache Roots in your Litespeed panel in WHM?

More likely a permission problem to the cache root directory, LSWS cannot save cache entry. It could be either cache root was not set or set to a directory that litespeed does not have permission.

For enterprise user, just remove the cache root directory complete, then restart server, it will be recreated with correct permission.
