Mini Cart for Header Desktop and Mobile
-
Hello,
We have a problem with constructing a header for Desktop and Mobile. We need of course for both headers a mini-cart. But only one is available for some reason which I am not able to grasp.
So how can we solve this?
Thanks
Sam

Hi @labok ,
I understand that you need a mini-cart in both desktop and mobile headers but are having issues. To get a clearer picture, could you confirm if the mini-cart shows up on desktop but not on mobile or vise-versa?
Also, could you share how you’re adding the mini-cart and the name of your theme? If you could send us screen captures of what you’re experiencing that would be great too, You can use snipboard.io to take a screenshot, then paste the link here.
Looking forward to your response.
Hi,
It is not my normal ways but by making an advanced header with Kadence pro. However, woocommerce is preventing to use the mini-cart twice. It can only be used in the Desktop header or in the Mobile header. There is already a thread about this (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mini-cart-can-only-show-it-one-place-and-i-need-two-headers/). My issue is slightly different. But the similiarity is that it when used in the kadence advanced header builder when the mini-cart is placed in the desktop header, it is greyed out when wanting to place it in mobile header.
So it is either this or that. What can we do about this? And why only one placement?
Hi there!
I can understand your concern, I have tried to add the mini cart for my desktop and mobile header in Kedence theme and I can see mini cart is appearing fine on mobile and desktop header. You can confirm that by using my testing site https://shahzeen-testing.mystagingwebsite.com/product/beanie/.
To assist you further, could you please share a screen recording showing how you’re trying to add the mini-cart to both the desktop and mobile headers? The more information you provide, the more accurately we can assist you.
Thank youHello,
I was not talking about the normal Kadence theme as you can read in my previous message. Please read carefully. I was and I am still talking about the Advanced Header with Kadence pro. I have no problem in the Kadence theme either but there is a problem when you use the ADVANCED HEADER in the KADENCE PRO theme.
As you can see it is greyed out I hope. https://snipboard.io/fvw0iV.jpg
So we are trying to make a Desktop header AND a mobile header. The mini-cart can only be placed once.
Similar issue is here https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mini-cart-can-only-show-it-one-place-and-i-need-two-headers/
Hi there!
Apologies for the confusion. Since the mini-cart is displaying correctly for both desktop and mobile headers for free versiobn of Kadence theme but is not working when using the Advanced Header with Kadence Pro, I recommend reaching out to the Kadence Pro support team. They should be able to help you configure the mini-cart for both mobile and desktop headers. There should be a setting within the theme that allows you to add the mini-cart block for both.
Regarding the grayed-out issue: Since you’ve already placed the block in the header, WordPress automatically grays it out to indicate it’s in use. This isn’t related to a WooCommerce issue.
Also, the ticket link you shared refers to the same header template for both mobile and desktop, which is why it couldn’t add the header. My colleague has already provided a solution in that ticket to add the mini-cart for the mobile header. I suggest reviewing the response from Shameem in that ticket for further details.
Thank you!
Hi
I already talked to Kadence and they say it is an issue with Woocommerce. The solution given in the previous thread will result to double side carts and that is not a desired behaviour and this will lead to confused customers.
Hello labok,
Thank you for your reply.
The WooCommerce allows only 1 instance of the Mini Cart block on a page.
There is an open Enhancement at GitHub on this if you want to learn more about it.To summarize, having multiple Mini Cart blocks on the same page causes issues with the triggers.
There is a plan to implement this feature in the future but at the moment we do not have a timeline for it.Please don’t hesitate to contact us again if you have more questions or concerns.
We are here to help 🙂Best regards.
