• Hi!. I had to move my WP blog from a server to a new hosting package in another server. I backed up the files and the Database. Then copied everything to the new one, changed the wp-config.php file to reflect the Db changes, restored the Db and voilá! a blank screen…

Any clues on this? I´m really clueless. The bad thing is that I did it the last day, and my original blog is gone. (I have the backed up files, though).

  • Hi!

Unfortunately there is no single definitive answer to this problem and usually one has to go through the “eliminate” kind of process.

First can you access your admin page?
If yes I would suggest you install this plugin: WP-DBManager
It is very useful and would help you to double check your database settings and info.
If all was OK you can then go to further step.
Try to double check your config.php file too.

Hi James, and thanks for your advice.

Unfortunately I can´t access the admin page. (it´s also blank). I checked already the config.php file and it looks fine. Any ideas to debug?

    Hi,

    Check with these options:

    – Upgrade your wordpress version to the latest version. If it is already upgraded then reinstall wp-admin and wp-includes folder with all files and folders.
    – Disable all the plugins by renaming the plugins directory from FTP to your blog.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.
