 * I’m having some trouble migrating my blog. I’ve followed all of the usual directions,
   but all I’m getting is the homepage. None of the other links work and I don’t
   seem to be able to login via wp-admin to change the links. Here’s what I’ve done:
 * Backed up files and database
    Changed URLs for old blog Imported old database
   to new database on new server Uploaded files to new server
 * I’ve attempted to change links in the database itself, but this doesn’t seem
   to do the trick.
 * Any advice would be most appreciated!
 * Thanks

 * The URL is [http://mosaicfilms.com](http://mosaicfilms.com)

 * You definitely didn’t do the find and replace correctly in your database. You
   forgot to actually put in your own domain name.

 * Ah ok… This could well be my problem. I haven’t actually done a find and replace
   before.

 * Make sure that however you chose to do it, that you update the URL that’s in
   there to your own. If you had parent pages, you may have already kind of created
   more work for yourself.

 * Use this script to find and replace the old URL to the new one: (as recommended
   in the official moving wp codex)
 * [http://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/](http://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/)
 * Using this script will preserve the integrity of the serialized string lengths.
 * For more info see: [http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress)
 * After I copied the database to the new server I also always manually edit the
   SITE URL and HOME URL in the wp-options table to the new domain name. This way
   the links will work correctly after moving.

 * In addition, in your case you would have to change this:
 * [http://your.domain.name/the/path](http://your.domain.name/the/path) to [http://mosaicfilms.com](http://mosaicfilms.com)

 * Thanks both… A big help. Working through it now.

 * Hmm. I’m getting an error 403 forbidden page after step 5 of the script

 * I’m asked what I want to search and replace, so have searched [http://old.domain.name/the/path](http://old.domain.name/the/path)
   and replaced with [http://mosaicfilms.com](http://mosaicfilms.com)
 * Have now also changed home and site URLs in wp_options

 * Look at this URL and compare it to the one that’s in your WP Dashboard…
 * [http://mosaicfilms.com/mosaic-films-news/](http://mosaicfilms.com/mosaic-films-news/)
 * What should the URL be?

 * That appears to be the correct URL, but I get a 404 not found

 * So that’s the URL that’s displayed in your page editor?

 * You seem to have succesfully replaced the URL´s (despite the 403). But the page
   [http://mosaicfilms.com/mosaic-films-news](http://mosaicfilms.com/mosaic-films-news)
   seems not to excist…
 * Go to your dashboard, open the page and click the button “view page”. What is
   the URL?

 * That’s good to know… The page URLs all seem to look correct, but you’re right,
   the pages don’t seem to exist.
 * Problem is, I can’t access my dashboard through wp-admin using my username and
   password. It says the password is incorrect and when I try to reset it, the email
   key is invalid?
 * This therefore means I can’t view the page…
