I recentely changed my host migrating my blog based on windows server to a linux based server (Siteground). Backups befor migration lasted 50 minutes, while the first backup after migratio lasted about 7 hours.
Is it supposed to do so?
How can i solve this problem?
Is Updraftplus incompatible with linux servers and/or Siteground?
Or simply there are other reasons for this malfuncion?

    Hi,

The speed of backup is completely a function of the amount of data being backed up, and the server resources available (including any administrative policies relating to them). So, unfortunately, if your site is the same as before, it’s basically certain that your new hosting provider is giving you significantly less resources than your old one.

Here are some tips on minimising resource use:

    Hi
Thank you very much for your quick reply. However, the idea that the problem depends on the change of Host is only my guess. I would appreciate dispel any doubt and I would like to send you the logs of two backups to be certain that there are no other problems.
As other option do you think would be useful to uninstall the plugin and then make a new UpdraftPlus download and set it in the new environment ?.
How may I send the logs?

    Hi,

Feel free to post the logs. It’s unlikely that we’ll be able to say anything more than “your new hosting provider is very far from generous with resources”, but we can take a look.

Dear Mr. AndersonMeanwhile, thank you for your availability. Probably you are right when you say that my host is not particularly generous, but always gave me a very useful assistance at all times. My host tried to run UpdraftPlus from my site directly in my server area and the plugin worked by ending the backup in 30 minutes, but without compressing the files. It seems that the problem can be linked to the upload to googleDrive. In fact, in my last backup (9 hours) the continuous and long stops were in the upload phase and even in this case without compressing the files. Can you tell me something about it? Is this an already happened case ?. My Host assures me that many of their users use UpdraftPlus with satisfaction.
    Thanks alot

Thank you! However I have to ask you … and I’m a little ashamed … can you tell me how to send the two files? they are in RAR format. Or should I paste them in plain text?
    Thank you

    Hi,

Use pastebin.com or something like that.

Sorry, I could not send the log by Pastebin. I’m really sorry to give up UpdratPlus but I removed it. I will look for other solutions.
    Thanks anyway
