I’m moving a blog over from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. In the posts of the WordPress.com there are some tags that look like [wpvideo pz55RaRA] which makes a Video Press video embed, [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ya686WgZlM&hl=en&fs=1&] for a YouTube embed, and an audio embed call like [audio http://theblogsite.wordpress.com/files/2009/09/someaudio.mp3%5D.
There are also quite a few [caption id="attachment_1419" align="alignleft" width="105" caption="The Caption"] brackets scattered throughout the posts that seems to carry over into WordPress.org fine, so I’m confused.
Is there some functionality I’m missing here? WordPress.com doesn’t have “plugins” persay, but is there a plugin that is standard with WordPress.com that handles this functionality that I need to download for WordPress.org?
I’m surprised that there is nothing addressing this issue. This is a huge problem if I have to manually go and change EVERY embed over to a real embed code. Why doesn’t the WordPress.org framework include this functionality inherently?
