Migrating to repair a WP install

Hi

I have taken over an old WP install – there were several things wrong with it including a whole bunch of wrong file ownership and permission errors. I know this has meant that some WP updates and plugin updates have not completed successfully – but I really don’t know what files are correct and whether the database is correct and with all the correct changes, so I’m not sure I want to simply copy the mySQL database as it is. I wanted to start with a completely new WP install.

I have set up a clone site using WP’s Export/Import functions in the hope that will copy the data but leave behind any database issues, leaving me with clean data. That works, but it doesn’t import the users, so I’m looking for a plugin that will migrate all data.

Can you tell me if All-in-One WP Migration simply includes a direct copy of the database or does it include the posts, pages, etc as, say, an xml file?
