Support » Plugin: All in One SEO Pack » Migrating to All in One SEO Pack Social Graph

  • I’ve got a site running All in One SEO Pack, which is also running the “Social Graph Protocol” plugin from before AIOSEOP added its Social Graph module.

I’ve like to migrate the Social Graph Protocol data to All in One SEO Pack’s Social Graph features, and had some questions:

    1. is there any way to automate this? (It’s a large site).

    2. If not, is there a way to activate the AIOSEOP Social Graph module, but disable its tag output while we manually migrate the field data to prevent duplicate tags?

    3. If there’s not a setting for #2, are there specific lines of code in the plugin I can comment out to achieve this, perhaps?

    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

We currently do not have a way to import this data and I am not aware of any plugin that does this. You could try https://wordpress.org/plugins/seo-data-transporter/ although I’m not sure that this will work.

There is no way to activate that module but deactivate OG tag output because the whole purpose of that module is to output OG tags.

I understand the purpose of the module, but there’s obviously code in the plugin that outputs the tags in the HTML, no? Couldn’t that output just be temporarily commented out in the plugin code?

I can dig around and find it myself, but was hoping you might just be able to tell me the specific lines perhaps.

We just want to avoid dual or conflicting tags during the migration, as it might take a while.

    Thanks.

    Hi Michael,

Yes, you can filter any of these with a bit of PHP code, there’s no need to edit the plugin for this. Here’s how you could filter them all:

    add_filter( 'aiosp_opengraph_meta', '__return_empty_string' );

    Thanks, Peter!

I’ll give that a shot. I’m assuming I can just drop that line in the child theme’s functions.php file, correct?

    Hi Michael,

Yes, that should work just fine.
