My web host, SiteGround, has staging server functionality for WordPress that makes a copy of the files and database and makes the site available via a subdomain. Once any changes are complete you push to production and overwrite the existing site. One change made on the staging server was the addition of the Slideshow plugin and several slideshows. After pushing to production the slideshows show up on the front end but not the back end. That is, only ‘General settings’ is showing under the Slideshows menu. On the front end the slideshows also aren’t configured the way they were on staging. The dimensions are right but they don’t use the ‘New – Light’ slideshow style. I believe they must be using the default, ‘Light’ style, as the left/right arrows are not visible.

I believe this must have been caused by pushing everything to production when Slideshow was not installed there. I assumed there was no need to install it manually, but apparently so. Adding the plugin after the fact has not made the slideshows visible in the admin. Have you encountered anything like this before and is there a solution other than starting from scratch with the slideshows? Thanks!

Hi, I have not heard of something like this before. Did you also update other plugins or theme in the process?

What is the difference between one method and settings in the server and the other method and server settings? If both are the same then it should also work in the same manner.

    Regards
