Migrating MySQL database

  • Hi all. I am having trouble migrating a large (1,500+ post) WP site from one domain on GoDaddy to another. They are both running PHP 5. I have exported the .sql file from one database and imported to another running a fresh install of WP 3.2.

The site actually loads the front page, when I try to login however (at myurl.com/wp-admin) it loads the URL of the old domain.

I am trying to figure out what is going on.

    Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED.

  • Howdy,

For the new domain, go into the database and change the siteurl in the wp_options table to the new domain name 🙂 … if you imported the old one, it’s still in there unless you changed it before exporting.

    Cheers!
    Lyle
