migrating from .com to .org

    I have a client who has decided that their self hosted wordpress blog needs to be on a .org rather than a .com. However, when I create the new site and upload the old database, it’s now all .com.

    I’m sure this is a “brain fart” on my part – but how do I fix this easily?

    can you be a little more specific?

    where was site 1 hosted?
    is site 2 hosted on the same host?
    in the same directory? what?
    Upload the database?
    to where?
    how do you upload a database?
    Do you mean you imported the old tables into the new mysql database?
    Did you edit the entries for the wordpress address and the blog address before importing the tables?
    did you edit the new wp-config so that it’s pointing to the new database?

    you havent provided enough info, as you can see.
