Migrated site, some links correct, some incorrect

  • Hey Guys,
    Thanks for stopping and taking the time to view the post.

    The issue at hand is with this website. http://reboundorthopt.com/

    You will notice when clicking around the navigation links that some keep you at the correct url (reboundorthopt.com) and other page links take you to http://0360cee.netsolhost.com/reboundFinal2/ (the dev site where). I have set all the database options to the correct url.

    I want to reset the permalinks but when logging into wp-admin it again takes me to dev site. Any ideas would be great as the deadline is upon us!

    Thanks so much,
    – Josh

  • Hi Josh,

    The first thing you should do is to open the functions.php file of your theme and add these lines to it:

    <?php
    update_option('siteurl','http://www.new-site-address.com');
    update_option('home','http://www.new-site-address.com');
    ?>

    Then, open the website front page. You need to do that because functions.php has to be executed at least once 🙂

    Now, you should be able to access your backend. Once you do that, go to Settings -> General and hit the Save changes button just in case. Finally, go to Settings -> Permalinks and once again simply save the settings in order to regenerate them. Once you do that, your site should be working just fine from the new location.

    Note that if you have any hardcoded links in your theme, you need to edit those manually 😉
