Support » Fixing WordPress » migrated server (same domain) but old posts/settings gone

  • I followed the instructions for migrating my blog to a new server (same URL), but the old files aren’t getting read in- esp. old posts.

1.Is there a way to do this?
2.Did this happen beacuase my DB_Name changed (server demand)?
    3. In what file are my posts stored anyway?

  • 3. No files ever. They are in the DB, as everything else.
    2. Not likely.
    1. To do what?

    1. trying to get my old posts onto the new server.
    3. sorry i’m a newbie. where is the DB that has my post info?

    i should mention:
my old host had a folder called /blog where my files were kept, though the landing page was the root url.
my new host has both on the root…

so how come i have copied my new files into the appropriate blog folder and no old entries show up?

There is nothing in the files – I already told you above.
If you really did follow the instructions for move, you would have migrated the database. If you didn’t… no content was brought over.
