I am trying to move a NextGen gallery from one site to another and can’t make it happen.

I installed NextGen on target site, activated, added a test gallery with images, deleted the test gallery, then deactivated NextGen

I have copied the content using cPanel File Manager

I have exported the ngg tables from the source site using phpMyAdmin

I have imported those tables into the target site

    I reactivated NextGen

    Nothing shows up.

What do I need to do to make this happen? It’s only data, and I really don’t have time to recreate and upload all these galleries.

    TIA,
    Skip

i’m an idiot. i imported into the wrong database. the above works just fine. in fact, you could probably leave out the adding/deleting test gallery step.

I do not understand how to do this part. Can you explain in more detail?

I have exported the ngg tables from the source site using phpMyAdmin

First, you have to have at least two databases (I’m using bluehost). In phpMyAdmin, select your database, then click Export.

Next, pick the tables you want to export and then down at the bottom, click on ‘Save as File’. Click the [Go] button, and follow any prompts you get to save the file to your harddrive.

To import, simply pick the database and use the import function.

    Hope this helps.

That’s interesting but how does it work when prefixe database are differents?
And is it reliable beetween differents NGG versions?
    Thanks…
