# Method to transfer content URL?

 * Hi, newcomer here. I recently started playing with wordpress and was able to 
   successfully transfer a local hosted wordpress test website to my web server.
   Everything transferred over fine except the contents. All the downloadable documents
   and photos were still pointing to the localhost server. I manually went in and
   edited the urls to point to the new server. I was wondering if there was an easier/
   quicker way of doing this. I can imagine this taking a long time if I had a lot
   of content.
    Any help would be appreciative!

 * Hi,
 * Generally you would run a few query’s in your database to update all the old 
   paths to the new ones. If you’ve taken an SQL backup, you could simply open it
   in a text editor and do a find/replace for the localhost links with the new URL.

 * I use these SQL queries when moving databases; but be careful you have the original
   backup somewhere safe.
