    Hello Josh,

I’ve created multiple versions of specific slides with custom text fields used for translations. I use English as a default and German as the other language with WPML. I’ve also created slideshows for German but the Slideshow Widget only seems to take into account the last drop-down setting saved for the widget, regardless of which content I’m working with. Any ideas or should this be a WPML problem?

The website is and the slide show is on the front page and will only work in English right now… Thanks for your help.

Hi, I think to use the slideshow widget in multiple languages, you’d need to use different sidebars for each language so that you can set the slideshow to English in the English sidebar, and so on.

The other option would be to use something like the PHP Code Widget so that you can put a conditional in there with the slideshow template tags to check the language and load a certain slideshow depending on the language.

Thanks Josh. Your suggestion brought me to this solution:

However, when I add multiple Slideshow Widgets to the Widget interface, I can only access Slideshows from one language. This defeats the purpose of the solution. Is there a way to select different language slideshows with your widget?

I’m not exactly sure what problem you’re having here. You should be able to add two slideshow widgets and select a different slideshow in each right? If you’re still having problems with this, you can send me a login and I can take a closer look at it.
