[Resolved] Meteor Slides Settings – Slideshow Quantity

  • One thing that I am confused about is the “Slideshow Quantity” option in the slides settings. I am going to be building multiple slideshows. If this is set to say, 5 and some of them are 5 slides and others are 10, what happens to the 10 picture slideshows? Do you have to set it to the maximum amount of the biggest slideshow to avoid issues? Does this setting matter at all when using multiple slideshows?

Just curious, as I wasn’t quite able to find a good place that explains this in the admin or in the docs. I probably just didnt look in the right place but I figured I would ask.

Yes, that setting is global and applies to all slideshows. So set the quantity to match the slideshow with the most slides, and add less slides to the other slideshows.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up!
Maybe this could be mentioned on that admin page where its set.

It seems to be that this setting could be depreciated. The number of slides each slideshow has is shown on the Slides > Slideshows page already in the admin, so there is already logic in the plugin that is ready to calculate that. I figure it could sense how many slides there are in there pretty easily, so I am not fully sure what role that variable has in the overall function of things.

A lot of users only have one slideshow so a slideshow isn’t specified and the quantity has to be set to limit the slides that show, too many slides could slow the page down.
