    Hi,

because of the latest security flaw in the WPBakery PageBuilder plugin, we updated it to the latest version 6.4.1. We also run MetaSlider on the latest version 3.18.2. But since the updates the slider is not working anymore. It only shows the first image. In the browser console we get the following error:

Uncaught TypeError: $(…).flexslider is not a function

jquery and jquery.flexslider.min.js is included correctly.

When we disable WPBakery, the error is gone and everything works normal.
We have tested this on a staging environment with default theme and no other plugins active.

Can you please look into this and publish some fix or at least temporary solution.

    Hi,

That error indicates that either FlexSlider or jQuery isn’t loading in. Can you share a link to the staging site?

    Hi,

the staging site is password protected. How can I send you the login details privately? But as I said, both FlexSlider and jQuery load correctly.

    Hi,

You can’t share credentials here, but if you remove the password for now I can take a look now.

    Hi,

jQuery is being loaded in a second time after FlexSlider is loaded in which overwrites it. Do you know what’s loading it in a second time?

I checked with activating and deactivating various plugins and it’s definitely WPBakery.

Have you opened an issue on their plugin support? I’m not sure there’s anything MetaSlider can add in to stop that from happening.

Not yet, I thought I’ll ask you guys first.
So it’s not a MetaSlider problem but more on the WPBakery side?
I will open an issue on their support page right away.

    Nevertheless many thanks.

I’m not sure if it’s WP Bakery specifically, but the problem is that a second jQuery is being loaded in. Are you sure it’s not from something else in your theme? It could be a conflict with MS + WPB + something else combined.

I will dig into the problem a bit deeper. And I will have a more detailed look at the theme. Thank you.
