    Hello,
At previous versions of ULike a direct postmeta-metakey works excellent! But now all frontend items linked with it stop to work! It’s a very important for all Elementor/WPBakery/etc page builders – when site designer/developer does not have php coding skill and does not have access to direct php functions, but still very need to use and show Ulikes number at frontend – posts lists, grids, carousels, single, etc with custom design. Direct metakey was the only one and superior useful possibility! How to return metakey back???

    Dear @johnynla
We’ve had problems with this in the past, so we’ve changed our algorithms.
But in the recent update, we have created a special dedicated table called ulike_meta where the number of likes is stored. We’ve simplified the functions as much as possible so that users can use them more easily. If we create a new shortcode for this, will it be easier for you?

    Dear Alimir,

Direct simple metakey at postmeta table – was absolutely ideal!

From a visual page/theme builders as Elementor etc is possible to access only a “posts+postmeta” tables, there is no possibility to access your own table anyway unfortunately.

Also your shorcodes and even Elementor widgets does not solve this problems because some site owners will be glad to make their own styles and use their own widgets to display ULikes number for posts as progressbars, circle progressbars, just metadata with icon widget, etc.

Of course it’s a right decision to store each users likes at your own standalone table! But overall likes number for a pages/posts/products/etc MUST be stored at postmeta table exactly for an easy access for developers! It’s a WP standard.

You can make “postmeta-metakey” as a Pro function, if you want, I, and other developers, are ready to buy it.

If such metakey will not come back I will be just forced to delete ULike because I just can’t directly access the number of likes for posts/products for a manual styling-representing-etc at ElementorPro. :(((

Hope for your understanding and following the WP standards.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the plugin.
Are you guys considering to add back the metakey (even if it’s as a pro function)?
As @johnynla pointed, the fact that is no longer available makes developers work way harder.

    Regards
