Greetings, Love the plugin – am using the paid Optimus HQ option. When I run the bulk optimizer I receive an error message that reads “Metadata Missing” on 23 files (out of hundreds optimized). I searched the KB and didn’t see anything relating to this problem. Any suggestions?

  • Do you have the “No deletion of image metadata” option unchecked in the Optimus plugin settings? For testing purposes, can you try checking that option and reoptimizing those images to see if you are still experiencing the issue?

Thanks for the quick reply @codyarsenault. I have tested your suggestion and run the plugin with the “No deletion of image metadata” checked and unchecked. The red “Metadata missing” warning pops-up in the bulk optimizer when I run it either way. It seems to only be affecting a sub-set of mostly older images on my blog. Thanks in advance for any other suggestions.

Follow up – @codyarsenault – It seems it may be some sort of database corruption issue on the WP side. I test deleted a couple of the images with the “Metadata missing” warning box, and it did not seem to delete the same images on the blog post where they were supposed to be attached. Possible image duplication in the WP CMS?

Sounds like it could possibly be an issue on the WP side. Have you tried re-uploading one of the images using a different file name then optimizing? Or re-exporting the image, re-uploading it, and then optimizing it?
