Support » Plugin: Media File Renamer - Auto & Manual Rename » Meta Update so slow

I am using Media file renamer 5.0.8 on my Woocommerce site. There are approximately 10,000 images for the products. When I try to rename an image with MFR the process takes 2 minutes. For example, if I select more images like 10 images, the process takes minutes and makes my site unreachable. Nobody can connect to the site. I enabled logging. Then I saw that renaming an image takes only 1 second, but meta update process takes 5 seconds for each image (thumbnail, medium, large). How can I solve this problem?

    Hi,

The speed totally depends on your install, so unfortunately, there is not much we can do here.

If you don’t need the references to be updated (I am not talking about the metadata, but the URLs used in your whole website to those images), you can disable those options, and the process will be instant.

If your whole install is using the images based on their IDs, it will work (and I hope it’s made like that, as it’s much cleaner).

    I hope it helps 🙂

    Hi,

    Thank you very much.

I have disabled “Enable post” and “Enable postmeta” options in Settings tab and it is working so quickly.
