For some reason the Meta Title should be “LTO 7 tape – Qualified Backup Storage Tapes” instead the title reads “Qualified Backup Storage Tapes – LTO 7 tape”.

How can I fix this issue?

    Thanks

  • Hey, the tittle looks correct on my PC https://i.imgur.com/O4bmMWA.png, try trying clearing cache from your browser and remember to turn off any caching plugins when you are doing any extensive editing of your website.

If the title is still wrong after you did this, please follow up!

    Hello Pierre

This is bizarre as Google shows it like this Meta Title

Google appears to reversing all the Meta Titles for all the web pages on the site.

Do you have any ideas as to why?

    Thanks

    Ray

Oh, sorry for my sloppy reply, now I realize I haven’t really explained anything.

There are 2 things you need to consider. First, you don’t brand your titles concisely. Second, Google can and will rewrite titles as it pleases.

Notice how I only provided one link for two things — that is because your whole situation is explained within a one page.

Note that it does not really matter what SEO plugin you are using, 99% of the work is filling out metadata correctly. And pretty much every plugin does it is a same fashion, so you will land on this problem one way or another.

Check out the page I linked, if you have further question after reading it, feel free to continue this conversation.

For completeness, I want to add that Google prefers that the Site Name is at the end of the title — they change this for you for consistency/accessibility/expectation’s sake. It may be at the start of the title for the homepage.

This logic is reflected in our default settings. If you adhere to this guideline, you can choose your own separator instead of Google’s hyphen -.
