    Hi there,

I’ve made a video to better explain the problem : Please, contact in MP to get the link.

Basically, the slider is fine on Windows and Android devices but for some reason, it don’t even load on an iPad (iPad Air 2) with Safari, Chrome or Firefox… That’s why I think it’s an iPad (or maybe iOS devices) issue.

By “it don’t even load” I mean, the website isn’t working at all…

    Best.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @coucouyou

I can’t load the page at all on my (very old) iPad 4. Can you share a screenshot or the video here?

If the symptom is that the entire page won’t load. What led you to the conclusion MetaSlider is causing it?

Hi @kbat82 and thanks for the fast reply.

It’s my conclusion because when I delete the slider from the main page, the page is loading well, even on my old iPad πŸ™‚

Well, a screenshot won’t help you much. If can send you a link to the video by MP if you’re ok.

    Hi @coucouyou

    Can you..

    • Add the slideshow to a test page and see if it works there?
    • Disable all other plugins to see if the issue persists (it could be MetaSlider + another plugin combination causing the issue)?
    • Try loading metaslider.com

If can send you a link to the video by MP

I’m not sure what MP is.

I’ll tonight when I will get back home.

Here is the video. I’ll delete it tonight :

You can see it on a windows laptop on Chrome and IE
    and on an iPad

Sorry for the quality… my kids were disturbing me… πŸ˜€

Add the slideshow to a test page and see if it works there?

Yes it is, with a shortcode, it’s loading on the old ipad

    Try loading metaslider.com

Yes it’s loading on the old ipad.

Can you try to disable JetPack for a few moments and see if that fixes your issue?

If yes, can you add this code to your functions.php file (or anywhere you normally add custom php code)?

    Not working.

Disable all other plugins to see if the issue persists (it could be MetaSlider + another plugin combination causing the issue)?

Not tested yet because I’m not sure to not break anything by doing this. What kind of plugins would do such specific issue ?

Maybe it’s because it’s in the Seventeen header ?

    Hi @kbat82

Sorry for the urge but my users are pressuring me with this Apple issue πŸ™

How can we solve it ?

I have the impression that the bug occurs when a slide is changing. It’s like if the whole page was trying to reload instead of the slider (header in this case).

    Best.

    Hi,

What kind of plugins would do such specific issue ?

Any plugin can run code that breaks any part of your site. So it could be any of them. It could also be unrelated, but the only way to rule it out is to deactivate them.

Typically plugins will not remove the data when deactivating, so you should be okay to deactivate then re-activate without issue. But you might want to check beforehand, or make a backup with UpdraftPlus.

If it’s working on other pages then that implies it’s not MetaSlider alone causing the issue. There’s no way to figure out a solution without determining what other factor is causing it.

Ok, I’ll try to do this tonight…

Question : Would it help you if I put here the installed plugins list ?

    Thread Starter coucouyou

    (@coucouyou)

Ok I just tried to deactivate one plugin after the other with a colleague iphone and nothing worked…

The main page is working when I deactivate MetaSlider…

All the others plugins, activated or not, have no effect…

Maybe it’s something with the theme (seventeen) and the header ?

    Hi,

It could be, but many others have added the slideshow to the header. Can you move it outside the header to test?

    Thread Starter coucouyou

    (@coucouyou)

    I’ve made a test page :
    https://www.acleb-jeuxdhistoire.fr/slider-test

Can you test it on your ipad please ?

    Hi @coucouyou

I can in a couple of hours when I get home but right now I’m seeing a 404 on that page.

is it the same issue though? My experience on my iPad was the same as in your video demo

    (@coucouyou)

Hi @kbat82 I’ve fixed the link.

    It should be OK now.

FYI, the slider is king of big (70 slides, played randomly).

I don’t know if it could be a problem (during the initial load time).

But on Windows / Android, no problem at all.

I’ll be back at home in 1 or 2 hours. I’ll test the slider-test page on my iPad but I believe everything is fine.

I believe the problem comes from the Seventeen header + Meta slider.
