    Hi, thanks for reading.

The problem is all site pages display the meta robots tag with content “noindex”, doesn’t matter if its set to index by default or even manually set for a specific page.

First thought was the site was discouraging search engines from indexing so checked the settings -> reading section but the checkbox was not ticked. I also checked the database options and “blog_public” was correctly set to 1.

Checked the Yoast SEO settings and everything was fine, re-saved some options and checked again with no luck.

Next step was to check pages one by one. I could update meta titles, descriptions, even change the follow to no follow, but even though I set the page to index the page meta robots content was rendering as “noindex” on front pages. So weird… The default option is set to index, doesn’t matter if i change manually to index, the front page meta robots is stuck on “noindex”.

On the admin page the settings look fine, index is set to default and whatever I change, info shows updated after saving.

Of course I clear the caches and force reloads to make sure there are no caching problems.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advanced.

    Cheers!

Sorry, this question is not related to Yoast SEO as the problem persists when deactivating the extension.

Just found the problem, related to another plugin.

    what was the problem?

Yes sorry, I’m using bedrock by roots.io and forgot to change the environment from development to production, so the must use mu-plugin “Disallow Indexing” was forcing “blog_public” return 0.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers!
