Meta pixel reporting inaccurate data
-
A large amount of purchase events registering in the last 28 days through the website pixel that is not correlating to GA4 (694 through the website pixel) – Screenshot 1
There are also an extreme amount of add to cart event registering in the last 28 days (342k through to the website pixel) – Screenshot 2
We believe this data is just being sent from the server, and doesn’t seem to be from the website data – Screenshot 3An ad set with $14k purchase revenue attributed – Screenshot 4 which is not correct

Hello kristenmcleod,
Thank you for contacting Woo support.
Could you please share the GA4 data so I can compare it with the pixel data?
This will help me get a clearer understanding of any discrepancies and offer more accurate suggestions.Let me know what you find, and we can work through this together!
Best regards.
Of course, here is the corresponding GA4 data: https://quickforget.com/s/d9a11b0e3acc9e30381667852ddf476e7ed99824986ef953
Please disregard the UAT testing, as our team were also testing during that period for the website, but that was only in the test environment. No one interacted with the ads when testing.
Cheers,
Kristen
Hi @kristenmcleod,
I’m afraid the Quickforget link has already expired. Could you share it again, adding more time to it, or more views? If you can also share the one from the first post with the four original screenshots that’d be helpful as well.
Thanks!
-OPOf course, here are the screenshots again.

Hello kristenmcleod,
Thank you for your reply.
After reviewing the screenshots, I can see that GA4 reports a 3226 count for the “Add to cart event” and the Meta Pixel is reporting a 342,307 count. Is my understanding correct?
To further troubleshoot this issue, I’d like to understand more about your setup.
Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status Report? This will allow me to check if there is anything that could impact the Meta Pixel count.
Looking forward to your response. 🙂Best regards.
Hi,
Yes, that is correct. Here is our status report: https://quickforget.com/s/40702cabb02bba31063f5482dec5620f02dd3cbe4d688acb

Hi, @kristenmcleod
Yes, that is correct. Here is our status report: https://quickforget.com/s/40702cabb02bba31063f5482dec5620f02dd3cbe4d688acb
Thank you for the additional details. As a first step, I can see your WordPress and WooCommerce database versions are outdated. Could you please try running all pending updates and see if that fixes it? You can take a full backup of your site before doing that or try the updates on a staging site to ensure nothing breaks.
Please let us know the results of your tests. Thanks!
-OPHi OP,
We have upgraded WordPress and WooCommerce database version and it has not fixed the issue, see system status report here: https://quickforget.com/s/adaf15c2df620d546a3224a8b18396d5d203d476831a0e33

KristenHello kristenmcleod,
Thank you for your reply.
Appreciate your step to update WooCommerce and WordPress.
I visited your site and noticed a few errors in the console.
These errors appear to be caused by Cloudflare and it might be causing issues with Facebook for WooCommerce.Could you please disable Cloudflare completely and check if the issue persists?
Let me know when it is done so I can also check from my side.Looking forward to your response. 🙂
Best regards.

Hi
Following on the same issue, when exported data from Meta Events Manager, server_received_count of AddToCart is significantly higher than browser_received_count. Where Purchase event is normal. What could cause the issue.
unix_time_start event browser_received_count server_received_count
1725253200 AddToCart 1 1144
1725256800 AddToCart 0 2848
Compare to Purchase event
unix_time_start event browser_received_count server_received_count
1725253200 Purchase 2 2
1725256800 Purchase 1 2
Hi @lizzyralph
Sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same issue.
However, to align with forum best practices, please create a new topic so that we can address your issue(s) separately.
You can create a new thread here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/facebook-for-woocommerce/#new-topic-0
Thanks for understanding!
Hi @shameemreza,
The issue is still occurring, further information as below.
The reason Meta Pixel count is much higher, seems from server_received_count

Hey @kristenmcleod ,
I’ve checked your site with Meta Pixel Helper extension, and it looks like you have two Meta Pixels firing on your site:
This may be causing the tracking discrepancies. When multiple pixels are firing simultaneously, it can lead to over-reporting of events like page views, add-to-cart actions, and purchases.
Can you review your Facebook Ads Manager to confirm which Pixel ID is the correct one for your advertising campaigns and data tracking. Typically, you should only need one Pixel active on your site unless you’re intentionally tracking different sets of data for different ad accounts.
Please can you give this a try and see if that resolves the issue on your end.
Cheers!
Hi there,
We made this update before the weekend, and whilst it’s made a small difference there’s still a large amount of events coming through. Nearly 8k add to cart events over the weekend, which is less than what we’ve been seeing, but still over reporting.See screenshots here: https://quickforget.com/s/7e647573598930968ac9e7ea993a854fc76b704c3b9136d5
Is there anything else you could suggest?
Cheers,
KristenHello kristenmcleod,
Thank you for your reply.
Could you provide more details about the update you made?
Specifically, what changes were implemented? This information will help us better understand the situation and investigate the over-reporting issue further.
