# Meta description preview

 * I’m a bit confused about the meta description preview. I added a short custom
   meta description, but the Google preview still looks slightly different from 
   what I expected.
 * Does Yoast always show the final preview, or can Google change it later?

 * Thanks for reaching out. When you enter a meta description, the Google Preview
   in our plugin gives an idea of what it will look like in search results. However,
   Google ultimately determines what appears in search results and how they appear.
   Our Google Preview feature is a suggestion, not a hard rule that Google will 
   follow.
