Meta Description not showing on Socials

    Hey there! I have a site set up with the default settings of SEO Framework, with the exception of adding the default social pic and site description.

    I’ve noticed when sharing my posts on Facebook that the meta title and description of the post do not show, Instead, it shows the site’s title and description.

    I have not had an issue with this before. This site is on a multisite installation if that aids in diagnosing the issue.

    Hey Andrew!

    It seems that the theme you’re using is outputting superseding (and incorrect) Open Graph, DC, and Twitter metatags. If you can find an option to disable these, or preferably all its SEO settings, you should.

    Otherwise, take a look at the header.php file of the theme. You should find those tags displayed there, or at least indicative callbacks for their output.

    If it’s not the theme, then there must be another SEO or SSO plugin active.

    Once you’ve removed those tags, don’t forget to purge the site caches! Then, you can test your URLs (and clear Facebook’s cache) via Facebook’s Open Graph debugger.
