Meta description is not showing

    Hi,

    In my efforts to optimize my site better, i have tried to optimize the meta description via the Yoast plugin. The only problem is that my efforts do not seem to have any effect because they won’t show in the search results (only the first lines of the body text). I have checked the theme (Fitshop), and i have deactivated the SEO options of it, so I would expect that it is all clear for the Yoast plugin in that matter. Does someone know how to fix this, so it would be possible for me to optimize the meta descriptions? Thank you!

    I am wondering if this is a problem with the update to the latest version? My pages no longer show a meta description, yet with the previous version of WordPress SEO they did.

    Hello everyone,

    I’m having exactly the same problem. Meta descriptions used to display fine with the WordPress SEO plugin but some weeks ago they disappeared from all my articles. What’s strange is that the descriptions are still present in the editor for each posts (meta description box) but are nowhere to be found when the website is loaded. This is ruining my SEO efforts and I’m not sure what to do at this point.

    Just wanted to add that there were no changes made to my header.php file, wp_title and wp_head calls are still there, so that’s not the issue.
