    Hello,

I am hoping someone can hep me out. Is it normal for the meta description for my homepage to override my post meta descriptions. I use the All in one seo plugin. I have tried every setting I can think of but my no matter what I do the homepage description shows up in my header and the post description shows up below where it says ” this web site is optimized by all in one seo plugin. The bottom line is two meta descriptions tags are showing up on all my post pages and the search engines are picking up the first meta descriptions it sees, which is the site description. My site is http://www.driverscdlstaffing.com. Maybe it is the way my theme is setup. Yes I am a novice with much of this technical stuff.I hope I described my issue correctly.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

    Curtis Carpenter

  • That would normally happen if you are using either:

    1) 2 SEO plugins – a no no
    2) An SEO plugin, and a theme that attempts to do SEO stuff for you (which I hate, but many do)

I really do think themes should not get into the SEO game too much, and leave that for the plugins (or at least get out of the way when a plugin is activated)

You’d be able to check for meta description generating code in header.php, or maybe your theme has an options area where you can set it?
