    Hi there,

I started using Yoast a few days ago. I changed the Meta Describtion of the starting page, but it won’t change in google.
    What am I doing wrong?

    My homepage is: http://www.solar-kw.com

    Google should write (it’s german):
Wir sind Ihr Solar Partner auf Ibiza und Formentera! Seit 1991 installiert unser Ingenieurs Betrieb Photovoltaik (PV) und Thermo Solar Anlagen in Spanien.

    But Google does write:
    Willkommen bei solar-kW Ingenieurbüro solar-kW, seit 1991 am Markt, … solar-kW. mail: ibiza@solar-kw.com tel: +34-971-33 66 11 movil: +34-669-01 85 64. tel:

Those are the first sentences of the website and the contact details.

    Could anybody help us?
    Thanks!

    Eva

As you recently changed the description, please clear your cache as the source code of your site is outputting a different description: “Spezialisiert auf angewandte solare Energietechnik – photovoltaische Stromerzeugung (PV) sowie thermosolare Wärmeerzeugung (TS) + solare Hybridsysteme.”

Google does not update instantly so you may need to use the Fetch as Googlebot tool.

Please note that Google uses the search terms to highlight information in search results. To see the meta description without search term manipulation, use the site search operator followed immediately by the URL of your site.

    Thanks for your help!

I already cleared the Website Cache and of course the Browser Cache. I used the Google Website Tool to fetch as a Googlebot two times in the last weekend.. But still Google is showing the wrong describtion and I don’t know where it gets that from.
Is there any other possibility ?

    Cheers,
    Eva

Ultimately Google will, as you have seen, make the final decision on what they show in their search results. You may see a different meta description when the search term does not appear in your meta description. Google converts the meta description to include the user’s search term for optimal click through ratios. Googles own Matt Cutts put together a great video that dissects how snippets work and how they pull from various parts of the page when they deem it necessary.

Due to this being handled on Google’s end, there is little you can do to force Google to display the preferred description. The best advice I can provide, unfortunately, is to try different descriptions. This article provides advice on creating the right description for your site.
