    Hello team,

first of all: congrats, the plugin has made big progress. Serious competitor to Yoast now! I like the generous and well made design.

I would be super happy and ready to switch, but I detected a serious problem on my clients website (which I would not like to show logged in users).

I set up both “pages” and “posts” in the same way, made sure that they are both activated under “Advanced”. And it seems that every thing works fine. I can fill in all in backend.

Unfortunately, though, the meta data (neither title nor description) does not show up in the html head of the posts. Everything fine for the pages, but not for the posts.

    Is this a known issue?

    Thank you!
    Best regards

    Hi @garavani,

    Thank you for contacting us.

There are not any known issues with the meta data not showing in the head of posts.

Could you please try a default WP theme and deactivate any other plugins to see if the issue is still there?

Let me know what you find.

    Thanks!

    Hi @garavani,

We haven’t heard back from you in a week. I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks! 🙂

    Hi wpsmort,

this is because I cannot take the risk to switch my clients website to a standard theme while it is online to public.

    Best regards

Hi @garavani, can you please provide a link to a post where you’re seeing this problem. Is there any way you can clone your site so you can test with the default WordPress theme? We want to rule out that this is a theme issue.

    Hi,

here is an example: https://bibliography.nanobiotix.com/2021-eur-j-surg-oncol-sts-retrospective-study/ (POST)

the pages header work as they should like here:
    https://bibliography.nanobiotix.com (PAGE)

In the blog posts’ head there is no meta tag description below this comment
    <!– All in One SEO 4.2.1.1 –>

In the pages’ heads it is as expected below:
    <!– All in One SEO 4.2.1.1 –>

Please note that I added a description meta tag manually (it appears above though) to the theme’s single post template to not leave them without any SEO in the meantime.

PS It would be nice to delete the links later on and not leave them here in public
    Thank you!

I will create an offline installation.

However, I work with this theme for years now (but with Yoast). Had no problems so long.
What does the head part in the template need to assure that your plugin can attach the meta information. Something which could be eventually different to the pages?

Thank you, anyhow, for your help

Hi @garavani, can you please go to All in One SEO > Search Appearance > Advanced and see if there’s a setting called Autogenerate Descriptions. If there is, please make sure that’s set to On.

Then, please go to All in One SEO > Search Appearance > Content Types and check to see if the Post Excerpt tag is present in the Meta Description field in the Posts section as shown here – https://a.supportally.com/jUawbI

Finally, please edit that post and see if there’s anything in the Meta Description field in the AIOSEO Settings section

Your theme should have the wp_head() code in the header.php file. If you have multiple header-.php files then it needs to be in each one.

    Hi!

Thank you very much! Now it works! “Autogenerate Descriptions” was the key. (worked before without it on the pages, though)

    Awesome plugin!

Last question: Can you delete my comment that contained the links to the websites? Or, at least, delete the links?

    Thanks so much, again!
