  • Hi,

Please check your theme has a call to wp_footer() – details are in the ‘top 5 meta slider issues and how to fix them’ sticky.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me, really appreciate it

The theme does have the <?php wp_footer(); ?> just above the </body> tag.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

Thanks. I can see 2 issues (I think).

The first is that every now and then (but not on every page load) I can see a JavaScript error relating to FlexSlider – the only reasonable way to debug something like that is to disable the other plugins and try and work out which one is causing the problem.

The second (and possibly more serious) issue is that the slides for the slideshow aren’t being included in the slideshow HTML. Again, this will be down to a conflicting plugin, so you’ll need to disable plugins one by one until you start seeing the slides showing up in the HTML.

Short answer: disable all other plugins and see if it starts working. Then enable them one by one until it breaks to work out which plugin is causing the problem.

    Regards,
    Tom.

    Hi

I’ve found the conflicting plugin, it is:

    Role Scoper

Which is unfortunate as this is needed for tom limit access to certain users.

Unsure if you know of a setting that might fixed this?

It is a brilliant plugin and looks great on the site, really want this to work.

    Thank you

    Hi, I’ve sorted it.

In Role > Options > Realm > Access Types

    I unchecked the box for

“Apply Roles and Restrictions for: Viewing content (front-end)”

And this allows the slider to run.

If anyone else has this issue, that looks like the fix.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi The_Adder,

Glad you got it sorted. A few people have had the same issue. Thanks for the fix!

    Regards,
    Tom.

    No problem!

Hopefully can help a few others if they get stuck with it.

    Thanks Tom

WOW – it pays to read posts. . . I was having the same problem with IE and metaslider — went looking to see if anyone else had — found this — deactivated role scoper and voila. . . . .

    thanks.
