Your latest updates to this plugin overwhelm sites with data that causes them to overload their hosting and fail. One site I’ve seen had 7000+ cron jobs assigned to it from your plugin checking every minute.

Stay away from this plugin till they get decent support to code it.

  • Hi there –
My name is Amber. I’m a co-founder at Mediavine. We were horrified to find that a release of our plugin yesterday caused these issues, and immediately took steps to correct the problem, including working through getting sites back online ourselves.

We have an entire team of developers that take pride in their work, and the release that made it into the wild was a mistake; one we won’t make again.

1.5.2 has been verified across the network as safe and working as expected, with no additional cron jobs as you described.

We know that this created extra work for you yesterday, and we are sorry. We have encouraged all of our publishers to contact us for reimbursement of any support, and we will also make good on their income for the downtime. If your client hasn’t reached out to us, please encourage them to do so (publishers@mediavine.com) so that we can make it right.

    – Amber
