The plugin has certainly come a long way since its introduction, and I thank you for all of the work and progress that’s been put into it. The plugin makes syncing products to a facebook shop *SO* incredibly simple, that the most novice of facebook/wordpress users could figure it out.

BUT… I do have a feature request that would certainly make my life entirely easier (and hopefully several others’ lives as well).

We have a WP/Woo MultiSite setup for our website. We produce Ts & merch for clients, and handle their online sales & fulfillment… AND also handle customer/order support.

I’m not even sure if this is possible, but it’s worth a stab at.

If there was a way for us to:
    – use a single FB messenger instance (representing 1 FB page),
    – for our primary business page,
    – across our entire WPMU environment,
… we’d be able to fully take advantage of the FB messenger integration within the plugin.

As it currently works, each FB messenger account is linked in with the FB page that the shop is linked to, which ultimately prevents us from being able to use the feature at all. While we are using the FB Business platform to exchange permissions to setup our clients’ shops, we don’t want them to have any responsibility behind supporting their customers’ support requests. Mostly because they aren’t able to even offer answers to many of the support questions, but also because we don’t have the ability to be logged into every client’s FB messenger… so we cannot even field those support requests.

  • Hey @splaquet,

Thanks so much for the kind words! We really appreciate you letting us know, and hopefully, this is just the start of the improvements we can make for the plugin!

It’s an interesting use case you’ve brought up, and one I don’t think we can quite handle at this time. The plugin will by default use the Page ID in the plugin settings for initiating the messenger on the front end, as you’ve noted. This setting isn’t filterable at this time.

If it was possible to filter this value, I imagine this should be possible, as the Facebook chat would be initialized with the different page ID. There may be other reasons this wasn’t implemented, such as a Facebook technical limitation that I’m not aware of, though I’d be happy to raise this request for our product team to look into for the future.

Thanks so much for passing this on, we really appreciate the time to help make the plugin better for all merchants! Is there anything else I can help out with in the meantime?

    Cheers!

    Simon.
