messed up my Ifeature theme

    I went to appearance then editor, then I clicked Header. I was trying to paste a code but messed up my website. I tried doing some editing in the beginning of that header section and at the end, now it messed up alot of the site.

    You can see writing on that top that should not be there.”ifeature” should instead be a banner. The bannana should be a lightbulb. And the font has changed.

    Plus going to ifeature settings does not change it. Please help. Im looking to undo my mistake. will worry about pasting that code after this is fixed.

    You can always replace your header.php file with a fresh clean copy of the header.php in your theme and upload it via FTP. That will get you back to the original state of the header file before you did any editing.

    Thanks. I dont know how to get a fresh copy or how to use FTP…..I only heard about it an hour ago. Thank you though

    FileZilla is a good easy to use FTP program.

    You can get the username and password from your hosting provider.

    Since your website seems to still be up and running you might just want to remove

    from the header.php file under Appearance > Editor. That will get rid of it from printing at the top of the pages.

    Thanks. I got the filezilla and im on my host (ipage) with the FTP part. Im getting confused on linking them up. Im going to stop trying for the night and have this kid sit down and do that tomorrow…..but for the last step how do i get a clean header for the theme? thanks a million. This like another language to me lol

    Download a copy of your theme to your computer (for iFeature, its here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ifeature)

    There will be a header.php file in that zip folder you download. Upload that header.php into yoursite.com/wp-content/themes/ifeature/ via FTP and it will replace the version you created.

    is there a previous version of ifeature to download. I didnt have this one version and so i think it would probably mess it up…?

    omgosh thank you both so much…its back and better. now, what I was trying to work on was inserting a bitcoin donation code that was supposed to go in the head section….i still haven’t managed to connect FTp to site. but if there is a simple way to do the bitcoin insertion that would be great. thanks so much
