[Resolved] message text on WP dashboard welcome page

    Thanks for your feedback @crienoloog.

    It only happens once durring an upgrade and only is visible to a super admin. If you click to another page it disappears. Considering that most plugins are way more invasive and are not architected with regard to distinguishing between the person with plugin management rights and everyone else, and considering that we get paid nothing to work on this and it takes a tremendous amount of time to maintain this project, it seems like a pretty reasonable tradeoff.

    That said, I know how annoying ads can make someone actually resent a brand. We’ll consider some alternative ways to handle minor promotion without getting in people’s way.

    FYI, we added a nod to this in today’s 4.0.6 release.

    Basically, you can add the following to your wp-config.php file to make the message go away.

    define('I_HAVE_SUPPORTED_THE_IMAGE_WIDGET',true);
