    This is a bug that I have, unfortunately, never been able to reproduce and solve. If you could spin up a site that has this issue, and I could debug it, that would be outstanding.

    Joel, could you please share the solution?

    I am having the same problem and at the moment the only way to solve this bug is to delete the menu and create a new one again. There is no way to edit a menu without causing the bug.
