# Menus freezing wordpress

 * everytime i click on menus it completely freezes. it is the only thing i click
   and i can’t even scroll down. when i try to click the dialogue box “this page
   has become unresponsive” comes up with that sad face on it 🙁 I am just figuring
   how to do my site and i need to add menus but can’t help pls!!!

 * The first thing to do to troubleshoot an issue in the dashboard like that is 
   to temporarily deactivate all your plugins. If the problem goes away, reactivate
   them one-by-one to find the culprit.
 * If deactivating all your plugins doesn’t work, try a default theme temporarily
   like Twenty Fourteen or Twenty Thirteen. You may first want to make a note of
   theme-specific settings like widgets or theme options, as you may need to reset
   them later. If a default theme works fine, you should contact the Avada theme
   developer to report the issue.

 * Thank you so much! temporarily deactivating plugins did not work and the Twenty
   Fourteen theme did not work. any other suggestions

 * If the menu freezing problem still happened with all plugins disabled and a default
   theme, it could mean the culprit lies in a few other areas:
 * 1. Browser – try this in a different browser than your usual one. Does it work?
 * 2. Browser extensions/add-ons – try turning off all browser add-ons and extensions
   to see if one is conflicting. In Firefox, you can try Safe Mode:

 * In Chrome, you can follow these instructions:

 * Scroll down to the section called “Temporarily disable extensions.”
 * 3. Core WordPress files – something may be corrupt in your core WordPress installation.
   To rule that out, you can try manually reinstalling the WordPress core files.
   You need to be **very** careful when you do that, so you don’t overwrite any 
   important files, like your wp-config.php and .htaccess files, and your wp-content
   folder, among others.

 * I strongly suggest backing up your entire site – both files and database – before
   doing a manual reinstall.
