# Menu will not update

 * Hi guys,
 * Since the 4.0 update it seems as though i’ve lost my nav menu. The footer list
   is now in the nav menu’s position on the right, as well as in the footer. (www.
   tasgasnetworks.com.au)
 * I’ve tried changing settings in Appearance > Menus, but nothing I change in there
   is actually applied. If I make my main list primary, nothing changes.
 * When I look in Appearance > Customise, I see this: [ which clearly shows something that is closer to correct but still incorrect – the list I am trying to apply has about half of those options. I’ve tried setting both lists (footer and my main one) as primary via Navigation > Primary, but nothing changes.](http://snag.gy/zhlb8.jpg)
 * Any idea whats going on here?

    – Check the error logs on your server for a more specific
   error message. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help
   you with that.

 * Thanks for your reply – I’ve not been able to find a logs folder that has useful
   information in it – where is it located?

 * For example, if you’re using XAMPP, log files by default are kept at: \xampp\
   apache\logs\error.log.

 * I have ftp access to my site, and I guess I’m not using XAMPP as my folder structure
   looks different to that. I have a folder in the top level called logs, which 
   holds 4 zipped files, none of which have any useful information in them. Other
   than that I haven’t found any log files.
