I added a page to the Appearance/Menus – it had a similar name to another page. Now the dropdown tabs at the top of the page show up with every page link so it is not only at the top of the page, but populates much of the page. I have to scroll quite a bit to get to the content.

here is a photo of what the page looked like broken, and then when it is fixed.

I dont know what I did to break it.

Thanks in advance for a solution

It looks like you were able to fix it. If it still looks broken to you, try clearing your browser’s cache.

Actually I couldnt fix it, I had to reload the last version prior to the error.

I still need to know why it happens so I can avoid it again.
I did clear cache – didnt help.

    Thanks

From the screenshots, it looks like you maybe didn’t select a location for the menu at Appearance -> Menus -> Locations, and the theme just went with its default (which is usually to list all pages).

    Thanks for your feedback.
basically I added the page to the existing menu (the only menu) that was working previously.

Right, but the location may have been altered. Just double-check that after you save the menu.

do you mean after saving it still says the same menu name? even if it is the only name?

    thanks

No, just check the Locations tab the be sure the proper menu is assigned to the proper location.
