menu slides off screen

I see the menu slide in when I open it but it slides all the way off the screen. I inspected the element and found it had a left margin of ‘-80%’. I could get the menu to partially appear if I changed it to 80%, and fully appear by changing to 50%. (Tried changing to right alignment but nothing was visible.) But this means there’s a jump as the menu slides off screen and then jumps into place. And it feels like a hack. Anything I can do about this positioning problem?
