 * Let’s say I want to have a menu item called Years. Years will have submenu items(
e.g. 1999, 1998, 1997). When someone clicks on Years, the only thing that should
happen is that a dropdown menu should open.
 * In my case, when I click on Years, I am sent to a page titled Years. So the Years
element cannot be a page, But what is it? Thanks.

 * Did you set up this menu in the Appearance >> Menus of wp-admin?
 * If so all you have to do is change the Years top level menu item to a custom
link and then do not add a url. Then add the menu items accordingly as sub items
   underneath it.
