• I use a menu on my site which has a large number of entries. The top levels are pages and then underneath the ‘Blog’ option I use all my post categories as menu options (it’s a sports blog covering multiple sports, leagues, etc).

I use the Graphene theme and everything was fine until I added a new category today – when I updated the menu to include this it wiped 80% of the menu so I’m only left with two top-levels and hardly any of the post categories.

I hadn’t updated the theme so I suspected this was the issue initially but even after updating that I’ve rebuilt the menu and I’m still having the same problem.

    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

  • Are you using a custom menu? (The theme has nothing to do with the custom menu, as that is a WP feature.)

I see four top-level categories and numerous sub-categories. Did you get this fixed?

    Hi kjodle,

Yeah it’s a custom menu made up of a mixture of pages and post categories. I played around with it a bit more yesterday and figured out it’s limited to 90 menu items (even though I had far more than this previously).

I’ve reduced the menu down for now so that it at least covers all my posts at a summary category level but I can’t find a fix to get it working the way it used to.

I did google around a bit and found a few mentions of adding a few lines in the .htaccess file to amend the suhosin values but this just gave me a 500 internal error so I removed it again.
