    Hello,

I installed your plugin first thing, made a few tests, and everything was fine.

Then I created somes pages and their equivalent in English ( meaning I did not keep the pages I created first just for the sake of testing but made new ones, linked to the French pages).
I also had to dasactivate polylan once.

After those 2 events, the second menu won’t appear anymore, it sticks to french and won’t work at all, although everything is allright with pages.

It looks like Polylang is not aware of pages or posts erased : whn I look the setting pages, it keeps telling me there are 19 posts in the website althoug there are only 2. same thing for pages, it gives the old number, although I erased many.

I tried to look n the database, but cannot see where the polylang data are stored.

    Please help

    Thanks

    Hello

Check if you have well assigned to your english menu the *theme location*.
    See: 4 – CREATING MENUS ❸

Hello and thanks for your fast answer,

    yes, all is assigned properly.

My theme has 2 menus, one is for header and the other one for footer.

i had to create 4 menus for it to work properl to begin with (main menu for french, main menu for english, footer menu for French, footer menu for English), and it did work when I tried first, but now stopped…

It is only with the header menu That there is this problemnow, the footer menu does turn to english and is efficient…

Do you have any error message?

    Thread Starter Oazar

    (@oazar)

No, nothing at all, it just keep the french menu in the header.

even in debug mode, no error message

Does it works with a default theme such as Twenty Fifteen?

    Thread Starter Oazar

    (@oazar)

Well difficult to say as this is a one page theme,I don’t dare desactivate my theme, afraid to lose informations, and my customer badly needs his website tomorrow morning first thing..

I cannot see any menu at all when I just “visualize” with twenty fifteen…and if I visualize with twenty fourteen, then i see the french menu, but no flag.

is this a hint for something ?

Polylang works with Twenty Fifteen and Twenty Fourteen.
So if you have any trouble with these theme it’s either a wrong usage of Polylang and check *all* your steps with the getting started.

Or maybe a conflict with another plugin or your theme. In this case deactivate all your plugins and test Polylang + only your theme.
If it works, re-activate your plugins one by one to find the culprit.

    but no flag.

If you added it by the menu (4-CREATING MENUS❺) and it doesn’t work, check “Displays languages names” instead of “Displays flags).

I try desactivating all plugins already, no change.

I just reverted to text (instead of flags) same thing.

I created the menus, and then chose their emplacements.

But what is the strangest thing of all, is I made some tests to be certain it would work before creating all content, and it did. So I suppose I configurated the plugin correctly to begin with…It seems to me it went wrong when I changed the pages translation (made new pages instead of the pages I tested it with).

If I erase polylang from the website :

will it clean up the database form any refrence to polylang ?
will the pages traslated stay in the system or disappear ?

In your pages list: you should have a pen icon instead a plus sign in the column of your english pages.
Accueil must have a check sign and Home a pen icon sign.

Well maybe this is where the problem is.

I have pens and check signs everywhere, except on a page which is not translated

Is there any way I can give you codes to access the admin ? I think you would much faster than I am to check what needs to be checked ?

The getting started explains how to translate your pages and much more.
Please read the getting started carefully.

    Which theme do you use?

    Thread Starter Oazar

    (@oazar)

In fact, Accueil has a check sign and Home a pen one under the French flag,

I can also see their status under the British flag. I have both flags in the pages list, so that each page has both status, and all seems normal.

In this page in the back office (polylang settings, tab Languages) : http://www.esprit-manager.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=mlang

what is not normal is the number of pages and posts mentionned.
Most posts and pages have been erased and polylang still counts them.

May this have a link ? Do you think I should reinstall the plugin ?

Could you provide a copy screen of your English menu?
    Which theme do you use?
