    Hello,

Second time posting this topic as the first time I did not receive the response by email in my mailbox then when I returned to check it on the forum here the ticket had been closed.

I have updated to the latest version of Woo and it has created a problem with the sorting order of my products.

I want my products to appear in a particular order on the shop page so I have used the Advanced field and given each a numerical order in the ‘Menu Order’ field.

This worked perfectly fine until the update.

Now the products appear in the order that they were created and published with the most recent product being the first in the list and the oldest product at the bottom.

When I use the Sorting tab in the back end view – they appear in the correct order that I have specified and they were appearing in the correct order until the recent update.

Please can you explain how this can be fixed so that the Menu order field works again?

    Many thanks

    David

    Hey @lanxalot,

I would first go to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Catalog and confirm that the “Default product sorting” is set to use ‘custom sorting’ and that your shop page is defaulting to that (here is a screenshot from my test site).

If that doesn’t help, there could be something else overriding the order. A different approach that might work for you would be to use the “Hand-picked Products” WooCommerce block on the Shop Page and add the products to that block in the order that you want them to show.

Since we haven’t heard back from you in a while, I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you still need assistance with this or have any further questions, please feel free to create a new thread. Thanks!

    Hi Shaun

Thanks for the reply. I didn’t see the other response you sent and it had been a while since we had the issue so we had fixed it and moved on.

I believe the issue was some kind of conflict with another theme overriding settings which we eventually got to the bottom of.

Thanks for the tip “Hand-picked Products”.

    Kind regards

    Lanx

    Hello!
I have exactly the same issue as the original post, and have tried the fixes mentioned, to no avail.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
