    I’m tinkering with a blog for a friend and have it looking just the way she wants when viewed in FF but having issues with IE…

    http://picklebums.com/testpickle/

    Most significant issue is that the top menu (#tabs) doesn’t show at all in IE – it shows in the header image (between the squiggles in the line) perfectly in FF, but not at all in IE.

    Also the foot alignment issue is bugging me in IE.

    I am really only a beginner in this stuff and despite searching the forums and googling and trying a few things I still can’t figure it out. Can anyone give me some ideas?

    thanks

    Kate

  • Hello,

    I simplified the CSS a bit as there were a couple problems, such as trying to float an absolute positioned div.

    Mostly changed the #tabs items, but added: position: relative; to #wrapper, (see code below)…

    With these changes the menu even works on IE6!

    #wrapper{
    width: 980px;
    margin: 15px auto;
    padding: 0px;
    text-align:left;
    font-size: 78%;
    line-height:20px;;
    border: 0px;
    position:relative;
    }

    #tabs {
      font-size:120%;
      text-transform: lowercase;
      line-height:0px;
      width: 680px;
      vertical-align:top;
      position:absolute;
      left: 450px;
      top: 65px;
    }

    #tabs ul {
      margin-left:0px;
      margin-top: 0px;
      padding:0px 0px 0px 0px;
      list-style:none;
    }

    #tabs li {
      display:inline;
      margin:0;
      padding:0 0px;
      border-left: 0px;

    }

    thank you!!!

    Fixed it perfectly (give or take a few spacing issues but I found a work around) and I even managed to learn from you and sort out my footer issue too!

    thanks so much for taking the time to help!
