# Menu links only load index.php

 * Greetings,
 * This is my first post. I am a beginner with WP and php. I recently installed 
   WP 3.1.3 on my home server to help someone with creating a custom theme. I created
   added support for menus and created static pages and added them to the menu. 
   All pages and menu links worked.
 * Then began working on the two loops in index.php. I have two loops that show 
   2 categories in 2 columns. Not knowing how to single posts out of the loops for
   special formatting (I just don’t understand) I used a get_post prior to one of
   my loops and set up the formatting.
 * Now somewhere during all this the menu decided it would not show any pages when
   clicked. The address bar matches the database id but it only shows index.php.
   I guess I am not sure how to set-up page.php to show page content. Sorry for 
   the long post, and thank you for any help.
