Support » Plugin: SiteGround Optimizer » Menu error because of SG Optimizer plugin

    Hi,

we can’t add a page as a menu item anymore via Appearance → Menus → Page (one selected)→ Add to Menu.

The page is not added to the menu, only a generic Menu Item.

We disabled all plugins and enabled them again. This showed us that the problem is related to the SG Optimizer plugin (version 6.0.5).

Please provide instructions how to solve this.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @janverm,

The described issue is not observed on default WordPress application with the SiteGround Optimizer plugin active. Thus – there must be a custom configuration causing this behaviour.

Could you please provide us with your website URL, so we can further look into the matter. Thank you for your cooperation in advance.

    Best Regards,
    Elena

Please do not provide any login credentials, this is against forum rules.

We only need your website URL.

    Hi Elena,

I know that it is against the forum rules, that’s why I asked if there is another way 🙂

    Thank you for your update,

I have found there is an issue with the current Cloudflare setup for your domain. In SiteTools you can not flush Cloudflare cache, neither to disable or manage it in anyway.

Please contact SiteGround support directly from your SiteGround account, so they can assist you further with it.

Additionally there is another cache plugin currently enabled on the site, make sure to avoid using duplicating functionalities.

    Best Regards,
    Elena

    Hi Elena,

the issue with Cloudflare is solved and the other cache plugin (which I accidentally activated again when testing which plugin caused the problem) is disabled.

However, the problem with creating a menu item from a page is still not solved.

    Can you investigate further please?

    Thanks!

I am afraid that Cloudflare issue is not yet fixed, Jan.

If you try to enable Development mode per example (and test the case without Cloudflare) the option can not be enabled but instead the following message is being returned:

Failed activate development mode. Unknown object id.

Please open a support ticket with SiteGround to report this issue, so our colleagues can assist you further.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    Best Regards,
    Elena

    Hi Elena,

I got in touch with your colleague Nikolai. This is what he wrote:

“From what I see Development mode is working and you can enable it, you can try flushing your browser cache and checking that again as it seems a local issue as it seems to work for me currently when testing for you.”

I enabled Development mode and purged both the Cloudflare and SG cache, but the menu problem still persists.

    Can you investigate further please?

    Thanks!

    Thank you for your update,

We have found the issue is not present when Memcached option is disabled. It appears this bug is strictly related to Avada theme, Memcached option and the custom setup of your website.

I suggest you to temporally disable Memcached option when there are changes made to website menus.

    Best Regards,
    Elena
