    Hello,

I tried adjusting the Button > Location > Distance from Top settings. I believe I typed in 30 px, but I don’t know what it took in because many of the cells on the Button settings tab do not display what I type. Unlike all the other tabs (Initial Setup, Container, Menu, etc.), the columns are very skinny and whenever you try to type something, you don’t see anything. After I saved my supposed adjustment, the menu button disappeared from my site.

Additionally, I was editing settings on the menu yesterday, but changes were not saved until several hours later.

    Can you please assist?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

Are you saying you are having issues with the display of the admin settings? Do they look the same as the examples in the docs below:

    https://responsive.menu/docs/basic-setup/button/#location

If not, I would expect that another plugin or your theme is bleeding their CSS implementation into my plugin which is extremely bad practise on their part.

Have you tried disabling all other plugins to see if the issue is still there, if not then you know another plugin is causing it.

I’m not sure about settings not saving until several hours later, you can’t queue up database saves or delay them. Are you sure it wasn’t just a caching issue, do you have caching plugins installed?

    Please let me know

    Hi Peter,

The admin settings do not look the same for the Button tab, although they look the same for all the other tabs.

I tried disabling all my plugins, but nothing changed.

How would I know if it is a caching issue? I don’t believe I have any caching plugins installed.

Is there anything else I can check?

    Thank you,
    Kim

    Hey Kim,

I can take a look for you if you send me an admin login to me at support@responsive.menu

Otherwise you can use your browsers inspector tools to see what CSS is changing the inputs to make them smaller than they should be.

Caching is more difficult as it could be coming from plugins, your browser, server or any other services you might use such as cloudflare etc.

    All the best

    Hi Peter,

Thank you, that would be great! I ended up getting it to appear again (although still not quite happy about the positioning) by blindly copy-pasting numbers into the cells. However, I would appreciate it if you could find the issue.

    Best,
    Kim

    Hey Kim,

Are you sure you disabled all other plugins because after logging in I instantly saw it is the Insert PHP Code Snippet plugin causing all the issues.

I deactivated it and my plugin returned to normal straight away.

Please contact the authors of Insert PHP Code Snippet as that is extremely bad practice.

    All the best

    Hi Peter,

Thank you for looking into this! I thought I had disabled all of them and checked, but maybe when I refreshed it didn’t actually refresh.

    I appreciated your timely response!

    Best,
    Kim

    Hey Kim,

No problem, just glad we were able to find the cause 🙂

    All the best

    Peter
