memory limit crash after updating

    Hi,

    We received a project that hasn’t been updated in a while, and it came with ElementsKit Lite 3.5.2

    They used the plugin to create the mega-menu.

    The problem is that as soon as I upgrade to last version (3.7.5) the plugin fails, making Elementor to collapse all the memory limit in the server (I checked on 2 different servers and it filled all the memory limit available on each case. I see this line in the Error log:

    I undestand you could say that it’s elementor the one that’s failing, but it only fails with this plugin active and updated. Somehow it seems to make Elementor to Fail.

    Right now the website is working because I reverted the plugin update. How can I help debug and resolve the issue?

    In our development environment, latest version ElementsKit plugin is working fine with Elementor. Please ensure that you’re using the latest versions of your theme and all related plugins. Based on the issue you’re experiencing, I recommend performing a conflict test to help identify the exact cause of the problem (please take a backup of your website before doing the below steps).

    • Please clear all caches, including plugin, browser, server, and CDN (e.g., Cloudflare). If you’re using a cache/optimization plugin, try disabling it temporarily.
    • Switch to a default theme like Hello Elementor to check if the issue is theme-related. If the problem persists, deactivate all plugins except ElementsKit and Elementor, then reactivate them one by one to identify conflicts.
    • Additionally, update your permalink settings (Guide) and regenerate CSS & sync the library (Guide).

    Let me know your findings after performing the conflict test. If the issue persists even after that, I will take a closer look at this issue and help you to find a solution as soon as possible. Your patience & cooperation in this matter are greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    OK, I isolated the problem to the combination “GeneratePress” Theme and Elementor + ElementsKit.

    I’ve currently disabled all plugins, then enabled Elementor and Elements Kit, and if I try to use the GeneratePress o GPress child theme, the memory limit error surges. If I switch to a default wp theme, it works. (Regenerated premalinks, Elementor tools done, cache clean (using Siteground)

    So, would you be willing to help me find the cause of the issue with GeneratePress theme? there should be some conflict. I can provide you my test environment to do any checks you need. Thank you!

    I hope you are doing well. Please be informed that the latest version of ElementsKit is fully compatible with the GeneratePress theme.

    You mentioned that you’re facing an issue with the child theme. Please check if you have implemented any custom code solutions there. Try disabling those customizations and see if everything works properly. If you don’t have any custom code applied, I recommend activating the latest version of the GeneratePress parent theme. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue.

    Hi,

    OK, let’s take the child theme or custom solution out of the ecuation, as it fails the same with the main generatepress theme (that i have reoladed fresh to make sure i’m using the stock version.

    So the situation is as follows:

    • GeneratePress (no plugins) -> Works
    • GeneratePress + Elementor -> Works
    • GeneratePress + Elementor + ElementsKit 3.5.2 -> Works
    • GeneratePress + Elementor + ElementsKit 3.7.5 -> Memory Limit Fail.

    Given that situation, would you be able to help me or guide me to find que solution to find the problem?

    However, after reviewing your system info again, I noticed that there are multiple Pro versions installed, which we’ll need to investigate further.     The developers assisted me throught their official support system. They debugged my setup and found that the problem was within the Nav Menú Element, related to Megamenu.

    Long story short, after updating, my first megamenu element got modified and instead of displaying a submenu template, it got assigned to show the full menu again, on the first megamenu element. That caused a recursive loop that ended with memory limit error. To resolve this, I had to delete that “Advanced menú” element assigned to my first mega-menu item, and this ended the loop and resolved it.

    Very good support, they really cared and took a look at my problem. Thank you.
